Gracefulness on the roof of Lisboa
Serenity, greenery, beautiful panoramic views of the city, charm, sense of community, hospitality – describe Graça in a nutshell. Many fantastic viewpoints, out of which the most spectacular ones are Miradouro da Graça and Miradouro da Senhora da Monte offering special perspectives of the Tejo River and Castelo de São Jorge. Circulated by tram no. 28 and several bus lines, Graça is relatively well connected to downtown Baixa, even being a bit off-road. Immense Church of São Vicente da Fora in Graça represents one of the finest mannerist building in the country, alongside National Pantheon. Set a bit aside of Graça, the neighbourhood of São Vicente offers quiet green pockets, local green markets and shops with local produce, as well as unexpected points to relish in the full beauty of Tejo. This serenity and slight detachment from the rest of Lisbon, yet reasonable proximity makes these neighbourhoods almost perfect for calm and slower-paced quality living.
