Rejuvenated industrial area along the Tejo docks
Situated between Santos and Belém, it’s a neighbourhood along the river with popular culture life, dotted with several old warehouses and industrial buildings alongside the marina. Alcântara´s main landmark is LX Factory, one of the city's most vibrant spots – previously a core of textile production, it has now been transformed into a mini-village of design shops, bookstores, restaurants, cafes and bars, fine arts galleries, co-working spaces and hostels, in a nutshell – an amazing multidisciplinary hub of creativity, leisure, entertainment and culture attracting many visitors throughout the year. Being a transitional zone in the direction West-East, Alcântara is very well connected with other parts of the city and has close access to 25 April Bridge. There are several major developments in Alcântara like including the new CUF Hospital - set to be Portugal's largest private hospital - and the new Lisbon HQ of PNB Paribas. This area has a great potential for upward growth and is a popular choice for new residents.
